The Pitch 2014: top pitches

Ben’s favourite pitches were delivered by Dean Jacobs of Wibbu English and Deepak Tailor of LatestFreeStuff.co.uk.

Wibbu is an innovative language app addressing the specific mistakes Spanish speakers make when learning English. Dean delivered a relaxed and confident pitch whilst conveying his enthusiasm and vision for the app and the business. Dean explained the freemium business model in answer to a judges question, as well as other growth areas including an education as Wibbu conducts an exciting pilot with schools in Madrid.

Latest Free Stuff kind of does what it says on the tin by finding all the latest give aways on the internet and putting them in one place. Deepak was very assured in delivering a well structured pitch which showcased the great clients Latest Free Stuff has already acquired. Deepak fielded a difficult question about achieving return on investment for his clients comprehensively.

Great ideas and great pitches weren’t enough for Dean, Deepak or Ben as the judges put more established businesses into the final pitching round. The Pitch 2014 was eventually won by PropertECO after a passionate, hard-hitting pitch from Rebecca Coates about the dangers of Radon.
